Mooched from Slovenia, this arrives in the rather rainy Swiss Alps.

I first read this on my kindle, and now have read the hardcopy. Here is my goodreads review from the original reading, in December 2018.

To be honest, I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw this on my kindle- I got it second-hand (the kindle) from a friend, and she kindly left a slew of great books on it - I suspect this might have been put there by her. Anyway, for now my kindle reading is really stop-gap - for physical reasons I can no longer add kilos of books to the bag I haul around with me all day, so the kindle was a wonderful solution. Most of the books I add are time-fillers rather than the gazillion books I have on my shelves at home.
This was a total delight and made it hard to put down after the short breaks when I pulled it out. I really appreciated the wit and dose of strong realism and self-awareness of both main characters (especially Linnet), thought the dialogues were fun and found it a wonderful distraction at a time of too much work for too little time. The whole issue of beauty - inner and/or outer - was good too for such a light novel. Great read, dragged out only because until last night I didn't let myself read the kindle when I was home and had real books at hand.

Now I understand why I thought I hadn't read this- as this was read as an e-book, I wasn't able to register it on bookcrossing, and hadn't checked if it was on my kindle when I had the option to mooch it. The book I had mooched was TBR.
The good news is that although I was fairly sure I had read this, I wasn't completely convinced. At first I thought I'd just read the sneak-peak chapter you sometimes find at the end of a previous book in a series, but as the book progressed and everything remained familiar, I figured I had indeed read it at some point. I didn't remember enough for it to spoil it for me, and I can agree with the above review.
