Picked this up from my first ever BookCrossing meet up today. It was great fun and I’m impressed with my restraint (only brought two books back). I shall do my best to get this read and moving again as soon as I can.

This book took me ages to read because it was a bit confusing and I kept waiting for something special to grab me. The most special thing was Jessie. It was a bit mundane, ordinary everyday problems with predictable outcomes. Largely bland with a couple of giggles. Athene was a little glimmer of interesting too, who was underused. I felt this book left me with a few unanswered questions (like who Suzanne's father actually was) and somewhat dissatisfied.

A typical Jojo book! A nice mix of romance, mystery and tragedy, with some good characters to keep you reading. I liked the fact that you never actually find out who Suzanne's father actually was, as it made Douglas seem so much nicer that he never questioned it. Probably my favourite character was the curmudgeonly Rosemary - I know a few people just like her and she made me laugh.
