This was my first foray into Pratchett and I rather enjoyed it. The story itself is charming, sweet and wise if perhaps a little naive and idealistic. I had heard over the years that Pratchett was quite athiest and anti-religion but actually I got the feeling he understood why people need gods and didn't seem to condemn anyone for that. If anything this book shows just how important tolerance is. It's an 'if only' kind of book.
