Fun! Surprisingly, this helped me a lot when I first moved to Japan and I taught English that first year (great for conversation classes).
If you've ever wanted to know about the history of SMAP, the origins of Doraemon or what's with those chicks who dress like men and sing cheesy showtunes, this is the book for you. I'd hate to part with it, but hopefully someone else can make use of it after I move.
