I truly loved this book which was sent to me as a signed copy by the author. It disappeared on my shelves a couple of years ago but has miraculously resurfaced now I am trying rather unsuccessfully to minimize my hoards of precious books. Can hardly bare to part with this and have just read it again and enjoyed it even more than I did the first time.
Now that I know someone special has it on her wishlist I simply can pass it to safer, and younger hands. I am sure she'll enjoy it.

Sending this truly delightful book to Keeta1 as part of the Southern Cross Book Exchange.
I'm looking forward to reading what she feels about this book. If she wishes to keep it in her Permanent Collect I will applaud that decision as I know she will treasure it.

Thank you so much Sherlockfan for the book, the bunch of extra bookplates and bookmark that accompanied it and your kind words. I have no doubt I will enjoy the book - maybe just not in the next week or two, but soon :)
Blind since birth, widowed in her twenties, now lonely in her forties, Marianne Fraser lives in Edinburgh in elegant, angry anonymity with her sister, Louisa, a successful novelist. Marianne's passionate nature finds solace and expression in music, a love she finds she shares with Keir, a man she encounters on her doorstep one winter's night. Whilst Marianne has had her share of men attracted to her because they want to rescue her, Keir makes no concession to her condition. He is abrupt to the point of rudeness, and yet oddly kind. But can Marianne trust her feelings for this reclusive stranger who wants to take a blind woman to his island home on Skye, to 'show' her the stars?
I enjoyed reading this book. Liked the characters (particularly Louisa and Garth), but did find Marianne a tad annoying sometimes. The Piper Alpha tragedy must have been awful and you can only admire the people that work on the oil rigs.
Will have to put Skye on the bucket list of places to visit, as Keir made it sound wonderful and I enjoyed the glimpses of places in Edinburgh, which we visited a few years ago
I'm passing this book on to AmberC , who I'm sure will also enjoy it.

Happy reading!
Happy reading!
Thank you for tagging me.
Very likeable characters. I fell for Keir but did get a bit annoyed with Marianne. I loved the Keir described the world.
Travelling with another book. Books shouldn't travel alone.
Thanks for the hitchhiker! I haven’t read anything by Linda Gillard before, and I know she is a great supporter of Bookcrossing.
I read this about three months ago and forgot to journal it! A very easy to read book, a lovely although unlikely romance between blind woman Marianne and loner Keir, who was an engineer on an oil rig.
The connection with the Piper Alpha disaster reminded me of that dreadful accident so many years ago.

And another book on my wishlist waiting for me at the meetup in Surrey Hills today, our first since the last lockdown ended. Signed by the author and already very well-travelled. A perfect Bookcrossing book!
