We played a game at Christmas where if you rolled a 4, 5 or 6 on the Die, you got a wrapped book. This is one of them! :)
Although I'd heard the name Borgia before, referenced in other historical fiction books. I didn't know anything about them. Certainly an interesting family!
It did take me a while to read this, but this was me rather than the book. I did really enjoy it. I liked Lucrezia the most and like most women back then, she was just being used by her family as a pawn. I also can't belive the hypocrisy of the Pope and Catholics in general. How could anyone buy into the Pope being Gods voice on Earth (or whatever he is supposed to be) when he is breaking all the rules that other people are expected to follow?
For fans of family drama and historical fiction.
