Running with Scissors: A Memoir

Book description:
Running with Scissors is the true story of a boy whose mother (a poet with delusions of Anne Sexton) gave him away to be raised by her unorthodox psychiatrist who bore a striking resemblance to Santa Claus. So at the age of twelve, Burroughs found himself amidst Victorian squalor living with the doctor’s bizarre family, and befriending a pedophile who resided in the backyard shed. The story of an outlaw childhood where rules were unheard of, and the Christmas tree stayed up all year round, where Valium was consumed like candy, and if things got dull an electroshock- therapy machine could provide entertainment. The funny, harrowing and bestselling account of an ordinary boy’s survival under the most extraordinary circumstances.
My thoughts:
I couldn't put this book down. Incredibly fun and easy to read, flows from beginning to end perfectly. Not for the easily shocked and offended readers, but for everyone else it is a must read.

I have heard good things and bad about this book and am interested to see what I think of it. It looks great!
To be honest I hated this book. I can't find a nicer way to say that, sorry. I guess I must be easily shocked or offended, because I thought this book was disgusting. I didn't get passed Chapter 3. I wish I could find something good to say about this book, but the only thing I can say is thank you for the opportunity to read this.
This book is traveling to trksh22 who REALLY wants to read this book.
