I have tagged Chania with this book and so it jumps the queue of my some 420 Tbr books... I have just began reading and have to say that no matter who had been asking I would not have travelled to an area with a possible nuclear radiation hazard. Actually my brother and sister-in-law had tickets for their first ever trip to Japan (Tokyo) two weeks after the earhtquake - and they cancelled.

Finished. Perhaps the emphasis was on the disaster, but it was still very much a Rei Shimura -mystery.
Waits for a courier who can pass this on to Chania.

Off to Annelis in the morning. She will give it to Taavina at a meet-up where I can't get and Taavina will eventually give it to Chania. Complicated?

Journal Entry 13 by Koivula5 at Nivala, Pohjois-Pohjanmaa / Norra Österbotten Finland on Thursday, March 19, 2020
Finally time for Rei Shimura! Time with her is never wasted. The story was not too violent regarding the crime and the plot not too straightforward. Maybe a few convenient coincidences :) but I was glad about them :) Hachiko was lovely!
"Kizuna = the Japanese word for the help people give each other, especially when there's serious trouble"
I was especially interested in the situation after tsunami in Japan. How the hospitals, shops, trains etc worked.
I read this during the start of the corona epidemic. That affected my thoughts, of course. A different tragedy. But there's kizuna already here, too: my mother (89, living alone) has already received a few phone calls from neighbours, about volunteering to go shopping for her. I'm grateful.
