I enjoyed reading this mostly because I love the setting. The South Carolina Low Country. It's got all the ingredients of the classic "Southern" novel. A plantation, or home place, a daughter or son who left swearing never to come home, but does and an eccentric matriarch or patriarch. Great read if you like this type novel. Think almost Anne Rivers Siddons and Pat Conroy but not quite.
