Life Before Man

Margaret Atwood is one of my favourite authors, but this book leaves me just about completely cold.
In a more or less honestly open marriage, Elizabeth is dropping her lover, and Nate is getting bored with his. Is this a happy marital ending? No, because Elizabeth is losing interest in Nate, who transfers his affection to Lesja. who is also splitting with her lover... This could be funny, or it could be tragic, but it turned out, to me anyway, as boring. There's a big imbalance between the character of Nate and that of both the women. Although they're quite different, they're both smart, energetic, and effective. Nate, on the other hand, just seems to be fumbling around. Atwood never shows us any reason why either of these capable women would take any interest in him.
But that's just one person's opinion. Future readers, what do YOU think of this book?

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
On OBCZ shelves next to entrance
I saw the release alert for this and decided to go hunting. I've enjoyed every book I've read by Atwood so far, and my husband and I had a rare weekday off together so we decided to check this place out. I had a cafe miel and we split an espresso chip cookie, and then we took a walk around the surrounding neighborhood. Thanks for the book and the lovely morning at a new-to-me coffee shop!
