I have been a reader of Neil Gaiman's books for some time and this one had the same effect on me as that previous ones. I need some time before I want to tackle the next one. I will be searching for a next one to tackle though. I truly enjoy his contorted plot lines and humor (I guess that is what it is) in his books.

The title of this book really tells the subject of this book if you understand that the American Gods mentioned are really immigrants rather than native-born gods (are they really born?). The gods in this book immigrated with the people of their country of origin and have nicely settled into American life. There are some new invaders into the territory of the American Gods and these new one are not immigrants but are brand new minted gods (I guess minted is better than born when we are talking about gods). The Teutonic, Roman, Chinese, Hindu and other ancient gods are being invaded by modern money-loving and hedonistic gods. I probably should stop here before I disrupt your enjoyment of this book.

I know that you will like it as I did. It will be a month or so before I start on my next Gaiman book however.
