I read this book around Thanksgiving 2005. I didn't think the story itself was anything special, but I was very impressed with the writing, especially the descriptions of characters and places. Arundhati Roy's style is very unique and I can see why this book won the Booker Prize.
For now, I'm going to hang on to this book and share it with family and friends.
