No doubt this book is a classic. I found it in a 1$ book bin at a book store in Burien Washington. I had never heard of Primo Levi. It is not really about chemistry but about life through the eyes of the common man during the pre and post fascist era in Italy. He is low key but ever so insightful. Primo is like an uncle we all wish we had.
I am sending this book on to my chemistry teacher from med school in Poland. Somehow, every time I read another chapter, I felt I was talking with her and Primo Levi! I highly recommend this book whether you have a background in chemistry or not.
