Well written. Memoir of a very sad childhood. Worth a read. Graphic.
Got today at the monthly book meeting! Goes to ghir next.
I enjoyed this book a lot. Despite the fact that it was highly disturbing, Burroughs makes it all funny, too. I had a hard time buying that it all really happened, but perhaps that is just due to the humorous spin he puts on everything. Looking forward to reading the sequel soon.
**BCer libertine101 would like to read this one when TOC is finished with it. :)

Received today at the monthly. Looking forward to reading this. Thank you for sharing.
Oy, the bizarre but true category. A childhood so creepy it could not have been invented.
This book, contrasted with Sellevision, proves the adage of "write what you know." It is far more interesting and engaging in tone than the fiction.

Gotten from ghir at our monthly gathering. Added to Mount TBR.
I was hyped up to read this book, having heard many good things about it. I don't know ... it just didn't do it for me. If it were presented as fiction I would have said that the story is too bizarre to be believable, but it's non-fiction/autobiographical, so I suppose this man really did survive a horrifically (emotionally) abusive childhood. Having been "given" to his shrink's family, he enters a "relationship" with a grown man (when he's a young teen.) Ugh. Just too creepy for words.
Will see if anyone else at TOC wants this. Will send out to libertine is it's through with it's Oahu sojourn.

Well, libertine has already acquired another copy of the book, so the Oahu BookCrossers have searched Cliff's wishlist site for another recipient. GrizzlyGirl is the lucky runner-up and the book is on its way. Shhh, it's a secret!

Mailing to a surprise bookcrosser! I hope you enjoy it and thank you so much for helping me with my move! Just let me know when you finish it and I will send you my new address in Phoenix. Take as much time as you need!
I've been wanting to read this one. Thanks! I'll send it back to you. Good luck with your move, GrizzlyGirl
This was an excellent book about a very, very wierd childhood. It held my interest through the entire book and it's amazing that the author "turned out okay" after all. It's a horrifying childhood, but it's told with with and humor. Bizarre in a good way. It's going back to Grizzlygirl when she's ready for it after her move.
Thanks for taking good care of this book!
I was at the movie theatre getting ready to watch "Little Miss Sunshine" a few days ago when on came a preview for "Running With Scissors"! Haha! I was in the middle of reading the book and had no idea a movie was being made.
Anyway, the book was definatly interesting, different. I'm looking forward to reading Dry.

I found this on my teacher's shelf. He said it was not one he read yet, but it looks good. I will read it.
My teacher let me read this and it was really good. Thanks for sending it to us.
I put this back on the shelf in my teacher's classroom.
