I just received this book and am looking foward to reading it and giving it a quick review here. After reading the book I found that, while the plot was interesting, there was so much historical and plant dye detail aside from the mystery that I began skipping paragraphs to get to the "real" story. The manner in which this author mixes the personal conflicts of the principal figures continues to be appealing. I felt more engaged with the characters because of their personal conficts than their quest to solve the actual murder mystery.
