Beautifully told account of Laurie Lee's return to Andalusia. It's a short book but so richly descriptive it needs to be read slowly. Smugglers, bullfights, filthy beggar children, gypsies, a group of lacemaking girls, some truly crazy hotel staff, fabulous Moorish architecture, mountain peaks and a lot of singing and drinking wine along the way - so evocative of the local atmosphere and people that it makes me want to go there.
