I'm not sure I'm going to like this, but ya never know. Picked from the Z titles book ring.
Mmmmm. well. I don't know. I'm guessing that if the scenario set out here, the animals going murderous after they are affected by the change in the smell of humans which has come about via petroleum and electromagnetic pollution, actually occurred, and the only way to fix it is to turn off all the grids worldwide and forbid gas based transportation- then yes, probably the world would end because almost no one in this current world is prepared to live without electricity, plumbing, transportation, phones and computers, food and clean water sources. A lot of people talk about living "off the grid" and some even do it, however, the grid is still available to the off gridders should they need it I imagine most do. Who knows how to do these things; hunt, clean and prep animals, make fire, find water, farm, take care of farm and transportation animals, do carpentry etc etc etc. It is just not feasible. How would the world survive if all the grids were shut down??? OK, shaking my head to get the nonsense out, it is only a book, letting it go.
