Thirteen Orphans (Breaking the Wall)

I originally pick up this book because I thought there might be some anthropomorphic elements, what with a group of mages based on the Chinese Zodiac... but not so much. Some personality traits and astral projection shape-shifting to be sure. But nothing that appeals to my full fledged furryness.
Still, I find a great book here, with a decent handle on young and old characters. With a very limited experience of Chinese culture for me to judge be, the world created herein seems very respectful of the cultures of historic China. Someone with more exposure than I would have to judge that.
Both the young Brenda and the old Pearl are wonderful examples of strong women characters, and I enjoyed each time the author invited us into either of their heads.
I will have to keep an eye out for the next novel, "Nine Gates."

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
This is a Memorial Release For Teddy Sexton.
Teddy passed away July 24, 2012. Since then, I've given myself the job of spreading the books he left behind as if they were his ashes. Not all of the books I'm releasing during this time were his; but the bulk have been. I still have many, many of his books left to share.
This office is closing October 1st, but maybe people will read before the end comes.
To the finder of this book, please enjoy it. Please share it with someone. Please help it travel. Thanks!
