This story takes the March family from 'Little Women' and imagines the experiences of the father during the American Civil War - experiences his wife and daughters cannot share. A moving story of the horrors and complexities of war.
Pickup at one meetup or another and didn't journal. Bad Bookcrosser. I have been wanting to read this for ages, so intend to bring along to February meetup.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Inspired by Little Women and telling a possible story for the mostly absent father. Some interesting bits about the end of slavery and women's rights to education. Enjoyed overall but it dragged in places.
