Stupid White Men
2 journalers for this copy...
I'd been interested in reading this book after reading a couple of reviews on this website, so decided to go out and get it.
Having read the book, I think it's a powerful book. Moore deals with the incompotence and the farce that is the US Government (sorry US'ers) and attempts to make us realise that all is not well.
Having also read Eric Schlosser's books (Fast Food Nation and Reefer Madness), I do think that things are definetly wrong with the way a lot of large companies and Governments behave these days. We think everything is run fairly and well, but it's not. Eg, companies like McDonalds paying the US government millions if they abolish minimum wage rises, Enron donating money to Bush's election funds etc.
Overall this book has had a powerful affect on me and is an ideal companion to Eric Schlosser's books - if you are a fan of Moore, you'll enjoy Schlosser and vice versa.
