River-horse a voyage across America
2 journalers for this copy...
this was very impressive. The writer made a trip across America by its waterways. The river horse, Nikawa, is his boat. I got to see America from an unusual perspective.

Another big book from biba. And another one I can't wait to get into. One of my favorite books is William Least Heat-Moon's "Blue Highways," so I especially look forward to reading this. Thanks, Biba. Oh dear, I see he's written another one between "Blue Highways" and this one, "PrairyErth." Where's my wish list?
Thanks biba! I enjoyed reading this tome. It's taken me this long though to figure out why, although I liked it very much, I didn't like it as much as "Blue Highways." I think it's because he was much younger and more nervous, both as a traveler and a writer, when he wrote "Blue Highways," and it seemed to be a bit more spontaneous than "River Horse." Still, though, it's a book well worth reading, and I'm glad I did. I'm returning this book (at last) to biba at the Euro-region BookCrossing meeting today in Maastricht, NL.
The riverhorse is back home again. Thank you!
