Review on amazon:
THE GAME'S AFOOT ...It is November 1890 and London is gripped by a merciless winter. Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson are enjoying tea by the fire when an agitated gentleman arrives unannounced at 221b Baker Street. He begs Holmes for help, telling the unnerving story of a scar-faced man with piercing eyes who has stalked him in recent weeks. Intrigued, Holmes and Watson find themselves swiftly drawn into a series of puzzling and sinister events, stretching from the gas-lit streets of London to the teeming criminal underworld of Boston and the mysterious 'House of Silk' ...
................................
I am a huge fan of the original Sherlock Holmes stories and always very suspicious when another writer has a go at the character. This one is great! Howowitz really captured the spirit of Doyles' London, his stories and of course the detective himself as well as his faithful companion Watson. It actually felt like reading a Sherlock Holmes story - and this is something that cannot be said for many of the numerous attempts other authors took to recreate the world of Holmes. I'll have to get my hands on "Moriarty" now.
Please read and pass on within 6 weeks. Thank you!

Off to Peregrin Tuk. Enjoy, everyone!
Dear book, now I have finally read your interesting 389 pages and I liked you very much indeed! Reading you felt close to reading an original Doyle story, you were entertaining and exciting. Are there more books like you? I will highly recommend you to any Sherlock Holmes Fan I meet :-) Should I ever try to write a Sherlock Holmes novel myself, I will also try to keep to Horowitz sensible 10-rules-for-writing-a-Holmes-story, which I found very convincing.
The entertainment of reading you made me forget to mention that you have already been with me for two weeks, and I hope LilyKlip didn't worry too much! Big thanks to her for giving me the chance to get to know you and recommending you!
Now you will travel onwards to biro72, and I hope the other readers will enjoy you just as much!

Currently reading it, and enjoying it so far. :)
It will soon be on its way to the next reader; sorry for the delay. :)

I have read (and enjoyed) many Sherlock Holmes novels... and I can say this one is at the same level of writing, and in terms of plot. Mr. Horowitz has recreated the style and the characters in such an accurate way, that it is difficult to believe that this book has not been written by Mr. Doyle himself!
A real page-turner, which I really enjoyed during many evenings.
I have always been a fan of The Midsommer Murders... I have my own copy of the DVDs here in Madrid, but I was lucky enough to watch them when first shown in British TV. So this writer's skills come as no surprise to me.
Thanks for sharing it, LilyKlip, and once again sorry for keeping it so long.

A. Horowitz copied Sherlock Holmes very well. I enjoyed reading the book! Thanks for sharing! Will be sent to Samingo today!
Thank you for sending! Book arrived today, and thanks to my dentist I ended the other one just today ;-) and got time for Sherlock Holmes now...
Amazing! I thought I was reading Arthur Conan Doyle...
If I come across another of Horowitz' novel, I will try and read again...
I enjoyed a detective story without so much blood!
Book is already on its way home! Thank you, LilyKlip, for letting me be part of the readers.
