Overall I was fairly indifferent about the book but I was quite put off by the fact that it seemed to reinforce the notion that Jemima still had be be fairly slim to have any hope of a happy life.

Picked this up at the Bookcrossing Convention this past weekend - what a fun time I had! I'll read it and release it somewhere.
I have to agree with grover3d - while the novel was entertaining, there was definitely a sense of "once Jemima J lost weight, then her life really began." It covers some of the same themes as in "Good in Bed" but I don't think it covers them as well - or as critically. It is interesting, though, that there does seem to be a rise in books narrated by women dealing with their weight - a good trend, I think.

I have been curious about ChickLit so I grabbed this off the shelves last night at TheCommonspace. Will read and release.
Not only is this book excessively focused on what good fun a skinny single girl can have as opposed to a fat one, the story didn't captivate me all that much. I guess chicklit is not for me-for my shallow reading I prefer mysteries.
