My introduction to George MacDonald. Weird synchronicity - I heard of him and then a day or so later, one of his books just appears in my condo "library." So I read it and I'm now returning it there so others can have the pleasure. A charming tale, well, a bit of a melodrama really. I did not like the dog part. But other than that, it was good.
