Did you think life was going to be like the movies? Ellie did. She thought it would be like Pretty in Pink, St Elmo's Fire and all those other 80s Brat Pack fantasies - where everyone was astoundingly glamorous and successful, and had huge apartments and lived happily ever after. But now she's thirty and things haven't turned out that way. When did horrible flats and dull relationships and meaningless jobs take over? And what ever happened to the coolest, wisest, most inspirational Brat Packer of them all? Surely he, of all people, can tell Ellie what to do about her thirty-angst?
Determined to find her idol, Ellie sets out, accompanied by her best friend, Julia, on an epic drive across the USA that's by turns hilarious, romantic and downright uncomfortable. But, helped by a cast of thousands, of who Frosty the Giant Pig is the least improbable, they do get some answers to life's big questions, although not quite the ones they expected...

Way to silly for me. Ellie was a bit of a half-wit. Didn't hold my interest & I didn't care enough to finish it.
