About the book:
"In 1907, the world applauds as the Cunard Line launches a history-making ship. The magnificent Lusitania, hoping to capture the Blue Riband for the fastest crossing from Liverpool to New York, attracts both the beautiful and the damned for its maiden voyage. Among its privileged passengers strolls the debonair American George Porter Dillman, a shipbuilder´s son - and a detective secretly hired to find the con artists, gigolos, and thieves who prey on the rich and unwary.
But the robbery of the ship´s blueprints and a shocking murder take Dillman by surprise. Now, attracted to a lady who may not be what she seems, Dillman plunges into a drama of love and intrigue set in the glittering salons of this floating palace. And perhaps plays right into a killer´s hand."

Thanks for tagging me, Dani75.
An enjoyable murder mystery. I won't go seeking future books, but I'd read them if they came my way. The dialogue was a bit stilted in places, which is surprising from such an old hand as Edward Marston (aka Conrad Allen). I daresay things improve in the following books & we get to know George Dillman & Genevieve Masefield better when they pair up in the future.

Sent to Icila for the Book a Month offer.
Arrived this morning. This was fast ! Thank you.
I was very interested in this book. The plot is fine and also I live near Saint-Nazaire where transatlantic ships were and still are built. We have a museum there, a reproduction where you can imagine yourself in different parts of the floating palace during the crossing.
We had a series of conferences about the emigration and, yes, there were more people in third class in order to fund the luxury of the first and second classes.
