This Perfect Day

Here's a nifty scenario for a futuristic novel: the population is controlled by a powerful elite. Potential career limits are set by the government. Happiness is maintained with chemical help, sex is encouraged but somewhat institutionalized. The use of force is available, but seldom needed because of all the conditioning in place. The government also manipulates information, with a judicious mixture of omission and misdirection. For the people's own good, of course.
Into this highly original premise comes a protagonist, called Chip, more formally known as Li RM35M4419. Discovering the devious ways the Establishment wields its powers over him, he decides to break free, and takes some friends with him. This is accomplished with a little sex, limited use of force, and lots of manipulating information. For the people's own good, of course.
But that's just one person's opinion. Future readers, what do YOU think of this book?
