Love is a turn
of the head,
to a smell drifting by;
ask any dog.

I was the lucky winner of Eponine38's Christmas Card Sweeps and I was spoiled with loads of cards and THIS!
I opened the envelope and got a shower of tiny glittering plastic mistletoe leaves. There was also a card and a separate wrapped hard thing... From HI77 - do I dare to open it?
A Paperback "Pick Me Up" au de cologne! I know I'm pretty desperate, but is it common knowledge? The odour was somewhat masculine, I dare not think who would pick me up if I went around using it... But certainly a good addition to all BC-products.
Oh, and there was more, a poem...
Twas The Month After Christmas
Twas the month after Christmas and all through the house
Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.
The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I'd taste.
All the Holiday parties had gone to my waist.
When I got on the scales there arose such a number!
When I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber).
I'd remember the marvellous meals I'd prepared:
The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared.
The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese
And the way I'd never said "No thank you, please."
As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt
And prepared once again to battle with dirt --
I said to myself, as only I can
"You can't spend a winter disguised as a man"! [Paperback au de cologne actually helps]
So -- away with the last of the sour cream dip,
Get rid of the fruitcake, every cracker and chip.
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished
Till all the additional ounces have vanished.
I won't have a cookie -- not even a lick.
I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.
I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie,
I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.
I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore --
But isn't that what January is for?
Unable to giggle, no longer a riot.
Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet!

I wouldn't use this cologne myself, too masculine đ But a fun thing to send around!
I guess everybody who wanted to comment Paperback have done so. It's tucked in my suitcase and we'll be off to Vienna tomorrow.

WOW! such a small book and sooooo smelly ;)
I rather like this note so I'll try it on before looking for another person with olfactory issues.
And I thought I was walking around with a cute penguin who had the misfortune to step into a woman and had to carry her around every since ...

this book doesn't really smell like a paperback but I like the scent.
