This was a succinct poetic book that takes on some universal but difficult themes: death, mental illness, epilepsy, abuse, abandonment, family relations. Some of the poetic musings were lost on me. I was confused because I had an idea where the book was going but additional characters and their innermost musings were introduced unexpectedly with little explanation. Eventually, a man, his father and his grandfather are revealed to us through their innermost musings.

Arrived safe and sound. Thank you!
I have been trying with this book. I do like the descriptions. Not a fan of the flip flopping between characters/time. Although I do feel it is what would make the book.
Sending as a RABCK to WormyOne. Enjoy!

As George lies dying at the end of a long, fulfilling life, Tinkers dips and weaves back and forth over his childhood, and the life of his epileptic father. A short, intensely lyrical novel, it both poetically and brutally portrays the life of a New England tinker in the early 20th century. Despite occasionally losing patience with its linguistic convolutions, I liked it overall and am left feeling peaceful and with a sense of its beauty.
