Never read this, and doubt I ever will. One of my grandfather's favourite books though - and he was no fool! Off it goes...

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Free!

Found at the Eagle and Child pub, where I wish I'd had more time to linger. I read it a long time ago and found it captivating. It's from a time when people wanted novels to last, and is written in gorgeous Victorian prose. It's a must read for lovers of good English literature, and an insight in these days of greater colonial awareness into the mind of an author who lived during the period. I will take it back to Cheltenham with me and, if I haven't just talked myself into reading it again, will release it soon somewhere in Gloucestershire.
