The God of small things

I read this a long time ago but remember it being one of my top reads of the year. I am having a hard time drumming up the points of the story except that it transported me to places I hadn't been before but also took me to places I knew were hidden deep within.

A fellow BC'er contacted me by email and asked if I would send her this book. How can anyone say no to one of us?!! This one is heading off to Alberta.

In the mail. I really want to read this one. It may have to go to the top of my TBR pile! Thank you!
I'm not sure what to think of this book. The writing was quite lovely. I'm not familiar with East Indian culture, so I was at a loss at times. The story is quite sad. There were also many many references to body fluids that disturbed me. I suggest not reading this book while you eat lunch. I think I'll be pondering the story for a while in my head.
Sending to babybee in Malaysia. Happy travelling little book!
