I initially thought this was a childrens books but on closer reading I think it would upset some children!
As the subtitle says -Recipes guaranteed to ruffle a few feathers. It includes such delicacies as Goldfish gumbo,Rat in a basket, Kitten Crunch, Trussed parrot au vin, Stir-fried ginger with Tom, and Pup-a-Leekie soup.
One of my favourites is Birdstrike Surprise.
To serve a family of 4. "It is a dish that has been a favourite for many years around busy airports. Its main advantages are the meal comes plucked and ready cooked, so there's no mess and no washing up.
It involves releasing a flock of homing pigeons close to an airport runway and keeping ones fingers crossed for a bird strike. Be ready with a plate and do try to coincide the release with the arrival of departure of an Air France plane as this airline tends to take just that little bit more time and trouble with the end product."

Picked up from the OCZ in Fendalton this morning, and already read half of it while waiting for the bus back into town. A very silly and fun book!

A fun little book. Don't think I'll be tempted to try out any of the recipes, though ;-)

A great laugh...even for animal lovers ! I will be emailing my brother the recipe for 'Kitten Crunch'...he has pretended for years to have a dislike for my fellow felines. I shall be releasing it at work (vet clinic), so I hope a customer will enjoy a laugh or two too !
