From the back cover:
This is that rare, spellbinding novel in which myth comes alive and magic reaches out to touch us. Tigana is the magical story of a beleaguered country struggling to be free. It is the tale of a people so cursed by the dark sorceries of the tyrant king Brandin that even the very name of their once beautiful home cannot be spoken or remembered. But years after their homeland's devastation, a handful of men and women set in motion a dangerous crusade--to overthrow their conquerors and bring back to the world the lost brightness of an obliterated name: Tigana. Against the magnificently realized background of a world both sensuous and brutal, this masterful epic of a passionate people pursuing their dream is breathtaking in its vision, and changes forever the boundaries of fantasy fiction.

Look what has finally arrived! I have 2 rings in front of it, but I will keep it moving quickly. :)
I have been wanting to read this book. I was startled to find that after 2 chapters, I had no idea what was going on. Not sure what the problem is. I'll be putting this in the mail tomorrow or Monday, May 9th for sure. Thank you for sharing.
Received today, looks interesting. Two rings to go before I get to this one, but that shouldn't hold me up for too long.
I can see why lauraloo had a problem with the begisnning of this book, I had to reread parts at the beginning and I kept getting lost with all the characters. This is the first Gavriel Kay book I have read and I really enjoyed it. The main characters were well developed and the story good with a few twists and some sad endings.
Sending on to kert01 as soon as the address gets to me.

I liked this book. I thought it held together a little tighter than the Fionavar Tapestry, and the theme is quite different. Still has the ability to shock though - these books don't fit into a standard fantasy 'good and evil' theme - the author wants you to think a little more, although it's story carries you along at a smart pace and you might not get much thinking time!
I happened across this link, which you might find interesting (probably better after you've read the book) http://www.brightweavings.com/books/tigana.htm
Passing on shortly, sorry about the delay in journalling, it got a little confused in my house move!

Received this book through PaperbackSwap.com four months ago from someone in Arizona. I didn't notice the bookplate until I picked it up this weekend to start reading it. Haven't finished it yet, but it looks like a great book.
Enjoyed the book! Mailed it today to a Paperback Swap member in Virginia.
