Book Description

She Dreamed of Finding Mr. Right

Margaret "Call me Meg" McKenzie Cooper will do anything to make her children's dreams for a daddy come true-even if it means accepting a stranger's outrageous marriage proposal. Only she hadn't counted on the man's brother being the dangerously sexy Parker Ponthier-or that making her children's dreams come true would mean risking her heart.

Could This Dream Come True?

Any woman between eight and eighty would kill to flaunt Parker's heirloom diamond engagement ring. The New Orleans millionaire doesn't want someone who's after his bank account-he's looking for a lifetime of love. Meg is warm, passionate, and sets his soul on fire. But while his instincts warn him that she's nothing but trouble with a capital "T," Parker decides that for once in his life he's going to follow his heart.

I finally got around to reading this in the last week while I've been full of cold and not up to taxing myself with any of the numerous classics I have in the TBR pile.
It is very light and fluffy, and a lot more 'romantic' than you'd think looking at the cover and the blurb.
At first this was a bit off-putting, but the story was by no means bad, the supporting characters were nicely done and the all-knowing grandfather intruded just the right amount.
Predictable, yes, but just right for a cold-addled head.

I read this book yesterday in one sitting. It was one of those fast reads that you just can't put down. It was just what I needed after doing such serious reading as of late. Sorry I held it so long- my summer was way too busy. Sending off to lauraloo29 ASAP.

I managed to finish this book today. An okay read. It felt very predictable to me. But a nice way to spend a cool autumn afternoon. Thank you for sharing.

Journal Entry 13 by booknhand from San Jose, California USA on Saturday, October 30, 2004
This book arrived last week and I was so enthralled when I started reading it that I forgot to journal that I ahd received it.

It was a great book that I found very difficult to put down - not a good thing when I was reading before bed and had to be up early the next morning, but hey if the book is that good what difference does a little lost sleep make.

If all fo Hailey North's books are like this one, I think I have found a 4th favorite author. I will have to sample some of her other books to find out for sure.

Thanks for sharing and I will contact the next person on the list and send this book on as soon as I get an address.

Released on Monday, January 10, 2005 at about 4:00:00 PM BX time (GMT-06:00) Central Time (US & Canada) at US Mail - Book Ring/Ray in San Jose, California USA.

RELEASE NOTES:

Finally got this book to the post office. It has been packaged and ready for at least a week now, but I haven't had time to drop it off to be mailed.

At least it is back in circulation after a way too long stay with me - Sorry :(

It is heading across sea to Zarylia in Poland.

Paynesville/MN/USA - I received this book probably about 2 weeks ago in Warsaw, but as we were (and are still) in the midst of moving from Poland back to Minnesota I didn't get it registered. I did read the book though, on the plane ride from Warsaw to Chicago. It was an absolute life-saver, and a cute one too. :-D I was expecting more chick-lit and less romance but was happy with what I got, a very cute story with some good characters that was just light enough to be perfect for a plane ride. A word to the wise: romance/chick-lit books are perfect for plane rides because 1.) they are generally light weight 2.) they are fast reads that hopefully keep you engaged (a major plus when the movie is bad ;-P) and 3.) they don't require a lot of serious intellectual involvement. So in a word, they are perfect! :-D

Thanks for including me in this ray, and as it is a ray I will be passing it on to a friend of mine who, though she is not anticipating any long flights, will be sure to appreciate it. Thanks again!

Zarylia has passed this on to me, knowing full well that I REALLY need a good fluff book right now. Now I just must find time to read it! Thank you, everyone.

Journal Entry 17 by Czersk from Roscoe, Minnesota USA on Friday, August 12, 2005
You know, I was very happy to hate this book when I was stuck in the first chapter and absolutely dying over "Margaret 'Call me Meg, please!'" But I chose the entirely wrong moment to complain as Zarylia was reclining in a chair across from me, finishing one of her bookrings. I was thrown a rather severe eyebrow look and told to stick it out. "Trust me," she said. Well, I should have known better. Zarylia is always right and she will be very smug when she reads this email-delivered journal entry. I couldn't put this book down, hate to admit it, but I couldn't. Parker Ponthier, who in my mind became synonymous with Clive Owen, was just too perfect to be able to shut the book on his face. It was definately a great reprieve from the heavier, and all to grave looking books on my TBR pile. Thanks everybody.

Off in search of other adventures!

Boring boring boring. I couldn't get more than half way through. The characters were unrealistic, the story line wasn't anything believeable, not my sort of book at all.

Sending to catsalive as part of a big package.
