Loitering With Intent (VMC)
9 journalers for this copy...
Chose this for my reading group with intention of making my way through Muriel Spark's back catalogue (previously had only got as far as The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie). Very funny, surprisingly racy and enjoyably odd/surreal. Fleur Talbot is a also a very likable heroine - feisty, smart and well worth rooting for!

Loitering with Intent by Muriel Spark - Good
I'm a big fan of Muriel Spark. Up until now, I have loved everything that I've read. This one, whilst good, is not up there amongst my favourites. Good but not great.
Fleur is an aspiring writer, working as a secretary to the Autobiographical Association. Whilst awaiting the publishing of her first novel, she suddenly finds that the publishers drop her, all copies of her book have been destroyed or lost and scraps of her 'fiction' are starting to come true and appear in some of the membership's biographies! All very strange!
Listed in The Guardian's 1000 best novels http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2009/jan/23/bestbooks-fiction

I really enjoyed this - very witty and original. Sorry it's taken me a while to get round to it and thanks for including me in the Ray.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Posted onwards to FraukeRo in Sweden.
This book was waiting for me when I got back from my Easter holidays :-) Thanks for sending!
An interesting story... maybe felt a bit too surreal and/or weird at some points but overall, I enjoyed reading it :-)
On its way to France - enjoy!
Now in Australia finishing a book group book will put this next on the list.
I have no idea why I put my name down on a Muriel Spark book must have been a moment of madness. Do not like her writing style at all. Contacting the next reader
Thanks, Billbooks, for sending this to me; I received it today.
I have two library books to read, but after reading the first paragraph of Loitering with Intent, I think I'll read this first!
Despite several attempts, I could not complete this book. I've read other books by Muriel Spark and enjoyed them, but this one just did not appeal.
This is now on its way to catsalive - I sincerely apologise for holding this book for so long...
Thanks for sending, ukcanaus. A delay is never a problem as I do have one or two other books around to be going on with :0) Life does have a way of intervening at times. My condolences.
I can't say I enjoyed this much. I found it hard to follow occasionally, but it was interesting in parts. I did like Edwina.
Thanks for including me, Cassandra2020.

"Loitering with Intent" has landed in Canada! Thanks, Catsalive. It looks like my name's the end of the line. I could post in Forums and get some more names...is that what I am supposed to do? Happy to do so.
Journal Entry 24 by Bookgirrl at Buck Lake Lodge Cabin in Huntsville, Ontario Canada on Saturday, July 23, 2016
Released 7 yrs ago (7/23/2016 UTC) at Buck Lake Lodge Cabin in Huntsville, Ontario Canada
WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Releasing this book at a beautiful spot in Ontario cottage country: Buck Lake Lodge, in the Limberlost Wilderness Area. We are returning here after having a great time last year in July. Dear Finder of this book: you've found a free, "travelling" book registered on Bookcrossing.com. Bookcrossing is like geo-caching for books and aims to spread the love of reading around the world. Please see the label inside the cover, to make a short journal entry, so we know the book's been found. When you are done with this book, please pass it on and help its journey continue. Bookcrossing is free and anonymous and there are members all over the world spreading the love of reading. To be honest, this was not an easy book to read, (while I loved Muriel Spark's most famous book, "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie"). I hope someone will enjoy this one!
