Wasn't this book supposed to be revolutionary for some reason? It seems like I used to hear about it all the time...perhaps it was simply the naming force behind the term "Generation X"? Read it, and let us know...

I got this book from MarthaMinx at the book relay site. As a GenXer, I think it was easy for me to relate to a lot of the ideas in this book, and I found it quite funny. The Texlahoma story was my favorite. Some of Coupland's ideas and complaints (for lack of a better word) didn't turn out to be well...much. For example many GenXers own houses now, even though that did seem to be an impossibility in the early 90's. I do think Coupland was right on with his observations about Baby Boomers and the threat they continue to present to GenX. Coupland is very insightful about the small nuances of life and the types of people who populate the Umited States, and his gentle sarcasm hits the perfect note.
I don't have much to say about the book that hasn't already been said. Interesting read, somewhat dated, but still fun.
