Interpreter of Maladies
4 journalers for this copy...
This book was chosen as my bookclub's February selection. Looking forward to reading this Pulitzer Prize Winner. If it is really good, I plan to buy the hardcover for my personal copy.
5th Book Read in 2004: I enjoyed reading the collection of stories, a style that I do not read very often. Lahiri writes vividly. Each story focused on relationships from an Asian Indian perspective (except for one story). At the end of every single story, I was left wondering what will happen next. Although a short book, I do not recommend reading it through quickly in one sitting. I believe each story needs to be savored, honored, and reflected upon. I read one or two stories each night before bed. My favorite stories were the first one and the last two. I wonder what process/thinking the author went through in arranging the stories into the present format. Yes, can see that this book will foster some very interesting book club discussion. Looks like I'm going to buy a hardcover for my personal collection!

Received as a RABCK from sleone. Thank you!
Well-written short-stories, I will confess to reading only 3 or 4 of them before sending this on. Although beautifully done, a little too depressing for me right now. Sending on to a new home in Brooklyn.
Received 10/11. Thanks!
