I would rate Kazuo Ishiguro's previous novel "The Remains of The Day" as one of my top twenty favourite novels. I wasn't quite as impressed by this as I found the pace a little odd; it was very slow in the middle and then suddenly picked up almost too fast. However, there was always enough intrigue to keep me going.
