When Cal Weaver stops at a red light on a rainy night while driving home, he ignores the bedraggled-looking teenage girl trying to hitch a ride - even when she starts tapping on his window. I was going to give this 9 stars but then couldn't think of any reason why I shouldn't give it ten. Cal Weaver stops at a red light when a girl taps on his window and from this moment forward, he is plunged waist-high into a thrilling but dangerous mystery. I was addicted to this book from the word go. It is a multi layered story of tragedy, love, hate, mistrust, which provides the reader with surprises at every turn of the page. It is filled with twists and turns right up until the final chapter and I was constantly on the edge of my seat. Characters that were seemingly insignificant totally surprised me which I loved.
