(2nd book purchased to finish out this bookring as first book was believed lost or held up but has since resurfaced)

Good-Time Charlie~A Real Greenwich Village Cat

From Inside Flap: Charlie is a marmalade cat who invaded the author's apartment one summer night and allowed himself to be persuaded to make it his home. This delightful book describes the coming to terms on that bargain between a worldly and self-sufficient woman and an equally worldly and self-sufficent cat.

This is an absolutely charming, witting, read. Also very quick- just 72 pages. I think any catlover would enjoy it. Especially if you have/had a cat with a "unique" personality. Looking to do a small bookring with this.

Arrived today ~ It should be a quick read so it'll be on its way back home again soon. =^..^=

Since the cat on the cover is an orange tabby, I thought I'd share a pic of mine. This is Baxter in the too-small box he loves to squish himself into for catnaps... (the pic is better if you click on it for the bigger version) =)

Thanks so much Lizabeth86 for sharing this book! =) It grabbed me from the start!

From the foreword:
Some years ago, a gentleman caller in a fit of pique said to me, "If I came on all fours and maiowed outside your door, I'll bet you'd be a hell of a lot nicer to me than you are." Yes, such a metamorphosis would certainly have improved his chances.

I've often said that I'll get married when I find a man who loves me as much and is as happy to see me as my dog and cats are! Haven't found him yet... =)

I easily related to the author. When I lost my orange tabby, Garfield (hey! I was in jr. high when I got him), nearly 2 years ago after 16.5 years, I knew nothing could replace him. Even though I still had 2 cats (and a dog), my apartment felt empty. I of course ended up visiting the animal shelter and adopted a very frisky B&W kitten, bypassing a mostly-grown, very sweet, shy orange tabby because he reminded me too much of Garfield. I really didn't think I could look at him every day being such a reminder. I couldn't stop thinking about him though and when I went back to pick up my kitten after his surgery 2 days later, the orange tabby was still there looking even more withdrawn. Yeah, you guessed right, he came home with me too. =) Baxter is one of the most loving cats I've ever had and now I can't imagine not having him around. =^..^=

I really enjoyed this look at the relationship between the author and Charlie. He's definitely got a personality all his own. And I loved all the photos of Charlie throughout the book. =)
