PRINCE OF THE POND, THE

Unlike the Rumpelstiltskin Problem (Vivian Vande Velde) this is one fairy tale adaptation that is best left for the kids it's aimed at. Although written with humour, it struck me as more of a biology lesson about amphibians, framed as a story. Far too many educational snippets of information were included, disrupting whatever flow the story might have had, and sounding incongruous coming from some of the characters' mouths. In short, this story is great as an educational tool, but as a story in it's own right, it falls a little short.

On way to vi0let - hope you enjoy it! This is a special RABCK to commemorate my first year of bookcrossing (it may reach you a little early or a little late, as it is travelling by surface mail) – thankyou for helping to make it a good one! If the book isn’t one that appeals to you personally or is one you have already read, please do me the favour of releasing it into the wild, or using it to introduce a new bookcrosser into the fold (!), or RABCK to another bookcrosser...
What a wonderful surprise! Thank you, and happy BC anniversary (which I see isn´t quite yet, but almost!) :)
