I'm still reading, but we are taking a trip to Paris which prompted me to pick up this book. Basically a series of essays about the author's life in France with his wife and young son over a two year period or so. Very erudite with regard to French politics and economics, a lot of which I didn't quite understand. However, the "slice of life" approach is very helpful in understanding the French people and mindset.
