One of those 'must read' books - hard going at times because of the squalor that is the life of most Indians contrasted with the lives of the rich.
Will take it to meetup at Bin44 tonight.

Sorry to have taken so long to register this book. Do want to read it though so won't simply move it along. Have just read "A Fine Balance" which was very much steeped in Indian events and almost harrowing in places. Hope this one will be a little nicer.

This was a most interesting book and is overdue to move along. Reading it after "A Fine Balance" was an interestingly different perspective that I thoroughly enjoyed. Busy making a resolutions about moving books along a bit more quickly. Some though I just can't part with. Reaching the time of life when retirement villages loom on the horizon I must be sensible.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Book is going to the NZ/Aus UnCon on Stewart Island around 13 October 2017. As 1997 Booker Prize winner it has had high praise. Hopefully it will catch the eye of a discerning reader cum Bookcrosser there - I am not attending myself but a very devoted book-crosser, EdwardStreet, is taking this book with her. Thanks so very much ES. Hope you don't find this too burdensome a chore.
