A gift, or curse depending on the way you look at it, is passed down through history from the time of Alantis to current times. The gift was beleived to come from the Lodestone, which gave Atlantis and its people "special" power. When a power hungry queen of Atlantis destroys most of the lodestone, the only thing that remained was a key .... A girl in current times is left to decipher what the key, which emerges after thousands of years, is for and why it is important.

Enjoyable book. Has mainly young characters with some grown up words thrown around. I liked the way the book came full circle... (you'll understand if you read it).
