This is the 300th book I have registered. I wanted to give it a hefty number because of the memories which surround this wonderful book.

My parents are artists, and I grew up surrounded by art, music, and books. We had not much money, but spent what we had on things which I treasure to this day. One of those things is this book.

We were doing an art show in a mall, and our display was near a bookstore. It did not take me long to discover that this book had just been released. I asked my parents if I could have it and was told that if we did well, I could purchace the book before we went home.

Of course the show went well, and my parents told me that the next sale would buy my book. A woman came into the display and picked something out. I thanked the woman and ran off to pick my copy. I have no idea who she was, but that woman was a part of my path to reading, and for that I am truly thankfull.

Another big MAHALO to allysther, for the honor of allowing me to borrow this much beloved book. To my dismay, I was unable to attend November's MeetUp, so she sent it home with my hubby -- and I couldn't be happier!

My fascination with Shel Silverstein started when I was a small child learning English. I loooved the drawings and the funny "foreign" words so much, that I made a promise to myself; I would read each and every one of his books when the "foreign" words were no longer alien to me.

A Light in the Attic is going back to Quijana today. My sweet husband was kind enough to read it to me while I was under the weather. I couldn't have asked for a better pick me up. Move over chicken soup!

While reading some of the poems to my little guy today, I realized that I had never journaled this back on my shelf. Oops!

Aloha, Tammy!
