This is definitely one of my top ten books of 2013, a brilliant novel.
Basically it is about the civil war in Sierra Leone, and about what war does to people. There are several main characters, and the plot line switches from one to the next and back - we slowly find out more about their stories, their pasts, the roles they played in the war, their coping strategies, we see their lives from different angles.
It's one of those books that really got under my skin, stories that will certainly stay with me for quite a while.
Highly recommendable.

Did my best but could not get into this book. Am a bit disappointed in myself as it seems like a very good book, perhaps I´m giving up too soon? Anyways, hope the next reader will enjoy it more :)

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Congratulations, you won authors from unusual countries sweepstakes :)
Thank you very much Bjorg, for sending this book all the way to NZ :)
I've not read anything by this author, but this looks like a good one to start with. I'll probably read it next year for the 666 challenge :)

I'm afraid I'm with Bjorg on this one - I couldn't get past Chapter 5. Probably if you stay with it, it will improve, but I just didn't have enough interest in it to do so.
Now on it's way to Edwardstreet, who, I hope, will enjoy it more than I did.

How delightful to find a book from the delightful Suedo here at pretty much the end of the world, albeit a delightful one.
Norfolk Island is tiny, just a thousand or so permanent residents, many of them direct descendants of the Bounty crew. So lush and green and full of history, some of it not quite so cheerful as its present aspect.
A big tourist destination nowadays.
I won’t have time to read and release here, but I think I can guarantee a wide exposure for its next hop.
Thanks to all who worked together to place this little treasure in my hands.
