I bought this at a second hand bookshop in Antwerp that was closing down a couple of years ago. Sounds like a nice cozy mystery.
Description back of cover:
Nominated for both an Agatha and an Anthony Award, Susan Wittig Albert's novels featuring ex-lawyer and herb-shop proprietor China Bayles have won acclaim for their rich characterization and witty, suspenseful stories of crime and passion in small-town Texas. Now, in her most intriguing case yet, China discovers that business can be murder when her accountant, Rosemary Robbins, is killed. With an abusive ex-husband and plenty of former clients in the picture, there's no shortage of suspects. And China must trace a crooked trail of passion and greed to discover who would profit most from murder...
Edit October 1st 2013: A nice light and relaxing read. It's the fourth book, I think, in the China Bayles series. I haven't read any of them before, but that doesn't matter, as her history and the relationships between the characters are explained/described well. I also like the information on herbs. The mystery was rather easy I think, and I already guessed who the murderer was early on.

Another cozy mystery, set in a small American southern town, who’s the main character used to have another job, here being once a lawyer. It looked fun when I started reading it but it soon felt more average and less funny. There’s the overprotective boyfriend, the weird friend who believes in everything. It also had a slow pace even if there’s a murder right from the start. Some of the characters were a bit over stereotyped. Even the ending was somehow a bit predictable. Don’t get me wrong, I like cozy mysteries but even in this subgenre, some are better than others, and this one falls into the average category. Not sure if I’ll read more books from this series.

Sent as part of a birthday's gift - hope it will be liked!
I had this mystery figured out almost from the beginning, but I kept reading just to see if I was right. I still like the author but will stick to her other series in the future. Thanks again to carelaisa for sending this to me!
