"...is a delight, a contemporary Cinderella tale told with intelligence and style."
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to her next one.
Like Cannie, my weight has been an issue my entire life. Add to that the intentional absence of my own father, as well as trying to figure out "love" and why life can seem so effortless for some people and so complicated for others, you have part of my own story.
I'm glad Cannie gained her weight back and was finally comfortable with herself.

received in the mail from ryanreader. will read after i finish my other two books that i'm in the middle of right now.
I stayed up until 2am last night finishing this book because I just couldn't put it down. Cannie is different from me in almost every way, but I couldn't help but identify with her. As Jennifer Weiner's first novel, it is tremendous! I was laughing out loud, something I never do when I'm reading. I was happy and sad and awestruck and incredulous at all the twists and turns in this woman's life. This book is absolutely amazing and I would recommend it to anyone!

This looks so good! Received in the mail today. Will read, review and release! Thanks!
I truly enjoyed this book. Stayed up way too late finishing it. The ending was a little predictable, but still good.
mailed to Bookczuk for her OBCZ (or herself first if she should so choose.. :o) )
Received in the mail yesterday . Thank you so much! I must admit that I started reading it and got sucked in by Cannie's humor. It somehow reminded me of Why Girls are Weird, by Pamela Ribon. Parts of it are hysterical, parts touching, parts totally unbelievable. It was helpful that my husband has been our of town, and I don't sleep well when he is gone, so that when I woke up at 2 am, I could pick it up and read.
Anyhow, this book is destined for our OBCZ, but a girlfriend wants to borrow it first. I'd ask her to journal on it, but she'd only disappoint me! But she is a kind, supportive and generous firend, so I can forgive her her aversion to journaling and lend her the book.
However, I will have nightmares because my 82 year old mother saw the title and said, "Are you?".
"Am I what?"
"Good in Bed?"
"Don't go there", I replied. "Don't even think of carrying this conversation further."
Eeeewwww....that's a talk I never want to have!
PS picture is of the Cooper River Bridges here in Charleston (pronounced cupper as in rhymes with Supper). A new bridge is being built and these two are going to be torn down and sold. Anybody wanna buy a bridge?

Forgot to add that I am totally in love with Nifkin, and thought the origin of his name a classic. Oh the trivia you learn through novels. Two neighbors have Rat Terriers, and I love those dogs!
This book is going to a friend that I am constantly encouraging to join bookcrossing, then to the OBCZ.
July 11
Change of plan- will go to my friend and then to kamala87321, who is sending another book for the OBCZ in exchange.
