Somehow it is a typical Agatha Christie story with all the moods and specialties between human beings and their being torn apart by needs, manners and politics. Partly however, because it is not a crime story, it was very different.
It takes quite long to set the ground, how Norris meets Isabella, falls silently in love with her and observes her plan to marry Rupert, while in the very last minute she flees with Gabriel. It seems, she loves Gabriel dearly as in the end, she gives her life for him in a shooting.
the audiobook was very well read and made it easy to follow a plot of half a century away...
