This was the first book i read of my own free will as a young adult. It is drab. It is slow. It is also extremely funny and has too many memorable moments to count. I have now read Tibor Fischer's entire collection with the exception of 'Voyage to the End of the Room'. He is a superb writer with a brilliant dry wit akin to my own. His concepts are baffling. The only pity is that nobody i know has even heard of him. He is truly a classic contempory writer.
